To be Best For The World, B Corps must have scored in the top 5% of one or more of the five impact areas assessed towards the certification. Rumi Spice has been recognized for our efforts in the area of Community.
As all B Corps are already businesses that meet high standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose, this is a recognition that makes us incredibly proud.
Since Day 1, we have been laser-focused on the 'why' of our work. Everything we do is rooted in economically empowering the community in which we serve in Afghanistan while educating our local community on the rich agricultural resources that come out of this vibrant region.
How Is Rumi Spice Making An Impact In Afghanistan?
Rumi began with a mission to cultivate peace in Afghanistan. Over 80% of the Afghan population is reliant on the rural agricultural economy. We believe that by opening Afghanistan's markets and creating direct trade, we can help build livelihoods for the women and farmers of Afghanistan. The success of the spice industry not only helps farmers and the women providing direct labor, but it can also touch every member of the village we work in.
Rumi Spice is proud to offer professional chefs and home cooks alike the highest quality Saffron and other wild-grown spices and unique spice blends, sourced directly from the people who grow and harvest them.
We believe that when Americans are shown the story of real Afghan people and have a taste of the beautiful agricultural products that come out of this dynamic region, they can come to know the vibrancy of the region and people, not just war and strife.
