Baharat Country Style Ribs

This recipe for country style pork ribs was inspired by a friend of Rumi who learned it down in Mobile, Alabama.  Spiced with our sweet & savory baharat blend, these soft and tender ribs will be a delight at your next grill out.

2 1/2 hours


  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup salt
  • 2 Tbsp ground pepper
  • 1 cup Rumi Baharat Spice Blend
  • 1 slab of pork ribs (country style)


  1. Place the ribs in a large pot filled with enough water to cover the ribs.
  2. Adds 2 Tbsp ground pepper and 1 Tbsp salt to water.
  3. Bring to boil on high heat and then reduce to simmer on med/low for around 2 hours.
  4. In a small bowl, mix together the Rumi Baharat Spice Blend and brown sugar.
  5. Remove the ribs and let cool for 5 minutes.
  6. Rub the ribs with the seasoning mix you created.
  7. You can let the ribs stand for 20 minutes to 24 hours in a refrigerator. 
  8. (Finish on grill) Preheat your grill to medium-high heat then cook ribs 5 minutes on each side or until heated all the way through.
  9. (Finished in oven) Preheat the oven to 350F. Place ribs in a flat baking pan and bake for 10 minutes on each side or until heated all the way through.
