Ingredients
- Wooden or metal skewers
1 1/2 lb. ground beef or lamb, or a mixture of the two (I love making mine with 1 lb. beef + ½ lb. lamb)
1/2 yellow onion, grated
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped
-
1 Tbsp Rumi Black Cumin Seasoned Salt
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
- Grilled pita bread, for serving
Tzatziki sauce, storebought or homemade, for serving
Directions
If using wooden skewers, soak in water for at least 30 minutes before grilling (this will prevent your skewers from burning on the grill).
- Lightly oil your grill and heat over medium-high heat.
Add all ingredients to a large mixing bowl. Using your hands, knead the mixture together until everything is well combined and the meat is tacky, about 3 minutes.
Grab fistfuls of the meat mixture and wrap firmly around your skewers, leaving at least 2-inches at the bottom of the skewer to flip the meat. (The meat should be about 1-inch thick). Repeat until all of the meat has been used up.
Transfer the kebabs to the preheated grill. Grill, flipping once halfway through, for about 4 minutes per side for medium/medium-rare doneness.
Serve over grilled pita bread with Tzatziki sauce and your other favorite toppings (chopped veggies, feta, fresh herbs, hummus, etc.). Dig in!
